The First Judicial District Attorney’s Office has an opening available for a prosecution specialist (process server).

Process server is responsible for delivering legal documents to individuals involved in court proceedings, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and maintaining accurate records. Position includes subpoena service with strict deadlines. Will require extensive travel within jurisdiction to include the following:

  • Serve papers
  • Provide reports
  • Serve court processes and orders, such as subpoenas and Target Notices
  • Receive papers to be served from attorney, court clerk, or Magistrate/District Courts
  • Use state, county, and city records, telephone directories, public utility records, to locate persons to be served and deliver document
  • Record place and time of delivery
  • May deliver documents between courts and attorneys
  • Track down victims/witnesses
  • Work along with the District Attorney's Criminal Investigaive Unit

 

This position provides assistance to attorney by locating of witnesses, screen incoming cases for reports and correspondence, organize investigative files and prepare exhibits, drafts and prepares legal correspondence, as well as other related job duties. This position requires considerable knowledge of the criminal judicial system, advanced merge documents skills, legal documentation preparing skills and interacts with law enforcement and court personnel. Salary is based on experience and the District Attorney Personnel and Compensation Plan.
