, ,This position provides advanced investigative functions required by a District Attorney’s Office to prosecute criminal cases in Lincoln and Otero Counties. Applicant may, depending on Certification and other direction: locate witnesses; serve subpoenas and other process documents; execute warrants; interview witnesses; research investigative leads; provide logistical assistance with witnesses and evidence; testify in court; coordinate efforts with other law enforcement agencies; provide internal security within a District Attorney’s Office; execute all powers and duties established by statute pertaining to peace officers; and provide training to other investigators or staff members.
This position requires advanced knowledge of: criminal law, procedures, tactics and equipment; surveillance techniques; interview and interrogation skills; investigatory skills; supervisory and management skills; writing skills; communication skills; ability to conduct effective training; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other law enforcement agencies and other criminal justice system participants; ability to interact effectively with the public; ability to follow directions and policies of the District Attorney’s Office; ability to use the District Attorney’s Case Management system; ability to use NCIC if so certified.
Required Qualifications:
Associates degree in criminology, criminal justice, police science or a related field, plus 1 year work experience; or three (3) years’ work experience in related field, plus New Mexico Peace Officer Certification within the first year of employement. Must also be able to pass the state required defensive driving course.

Hours/Days: 8-5 Monday through Friday
Salary: $27.86/hr
