CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER/FINANCIAL MANAGER
Purpose:
This position provides office management functions which include management of fiscal and/or human resource operations.
Supervision:
The incumbent receives administrative supervision from the assigned supervisor, typically the district attorney. The incumbent may exercise supervisory authority over office staff. The incumbent also receives direction from and is accountable to assigned budget analysts at the Department of Finance and Administration and the Legislative Finance Committee. In addition, the incumbent is accountable to the designated auditing firm for matters related to the agency’s financial and compliance responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Incumbent may manage and/or perform the duties related to fiscal and/or human resource activities; oversee the processing of financial documents, the procurement process, administration of employee benefits, payroll processing, asset management, budget preparation and administration, and federal/state/local grant management; prepare audit statements and pre-audit reports; communicate with other agencies, vendors, etc.; act as the liaison with both the legislative finance committee and department of finance and administration for their respective agency. The incumbent ensures compliance with federal regulations, state statutes, policies and/or directives; and performs other related job duties as assigned or directed by law.
Work Environment:
This position requires extensive knowledge in the areas of general and governmental accounting practices, human resource practices, general office procedures and equipment; effective public relations and communications skills, effective management and supervisory skills; a high level of organizational skills; ability to analyze and interpret financial information, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines; and ability to follow directions and policies. Grants management oversees the entire lifecycle of grant funding, ensuring financial compliance, budgetary control, and reporting accuracy from pre-award to close-out.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business/public administration or other related financial field, plus four (4) years of related work experience and/or education, which must include two (2) years supervision/administration experience.
Salary: $44.81-$54.00/hr
